Turkish Radio Hour and the various lists it manages are run by volunteers. We, however, require a modest amount of money for various expenses such as our mandatory contribution to KUSF, payments to our Internet Service Provider, etc. for announcements that individuals, private or commercial entities would like to run on our program and mailing lists.

We see the TRH and the lists we manage as the shared resources for the community-at-large. As with any shared resource, we ask for contributions towards our expenses. Here is a list of suggested contributions for announcements for our weekend news. This is aired on the radio, heard through the internet, and its transcript gets distributed throughout the internet reaching a target audience of approximately 3.6 million people. We ask for a donation in the following manner:

Category 1: For announcements from commercial companies:

Category 2: For announcements from commercial companies for cultural activities (concerts, plays, book announcements, records):

50% off of Category 1 rates

Category 3: For announcements from non-profit organizations.

Depending on the announcement and location of the organization, it could be free.

For example, for San Francisco Bay Area non-profit organizations, we ask that they contribute. (TAAC has a long term arrangement with us to this effect.)

For non-profit organizations outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, please contact us. Depending on the nature of your event, budget, what you charge for public to attend the event, we may ask for a nominal donation.
